Tuesday June 27th – Saturday 8th July, a missions trip of a life time. Nothing could have stopped us from expecting miracles to happen, not even the 5 hour delay at Auckland Airport. Our team of 11 youth and leaders were challenged inspired and stretched beyond our personal boundaries and impacted in such a way that we are again renewed, refreshed and willing to step out to where God is leading us as part of Park City Youth.
After 14 months of prayer, 8 months of fundraising and numerous days of preparation, things finally went to plan….. We had our first experience of ‘island time’ when we got to Auckland airport, only to find out that our Air Vanuatu flight was delayed 5 hours. Definately a blessing as we happily received meal vouchers whilst we waited. That was to be the beginning of Gods amazing hand of provision as we stepped out in obedience to His call. Because of our connection with Ohlen Apostolic Church, Port Vila, we decided to visit them first. We felt humbled as we continuously experienced the wonderful greetings from the Ni-Vanuatu people. They are such a generous, caring and hospitable culture. Some of our time was spent ministering to the Vila youth and building relationships. On our last night in Vila, we celebrated a partnership between the Ohlen youth and Park City youth, with the cutting of a cake and an exchanging of gifts. There was a real sense of friendship happening which we know will continue on into the future. The second part of the trip was an hour flight from the main island of Efate to the island of Espiritu Santo. We spent much of our time in a small town called Luganville. Once again we were so blessed to receive a wonderful welcoming from the Luganville Apostolic church. They opened their doors for us and during our five days stay we made some beautiful friendships. We also had visits to a couple of rural churches, Bombua and Valankara. We were given permission to impart, enjoy and minister to their congregation and youth. All of our team members had opportunity to share testimonies, talents and serve with great love. God did so much for us, through us and in us. We are all excited about how He will use this mission’s trip to Vanuatu to help shape our lives according to His plan.
