Movember (the month formerly known as November) is a charity event held during November each year. At the start of Movember guys register with a clean shaven face. The Movember participants known as Mo Bros have the remainder of the month to grow their Tache and raise money and awareness about male health issues. The key male health causes for Movember 2006 in NZ are Prostate cancer, because every year in NZ 600 men die of Prostate Cancer, and Testicular Cancer, because it’s the second most common cancer in young men aged 18-35. The aim of Movember is to change the “she’ll be right” attitude and raise awareness of the very real health issues faced by males. Whilst growing a mo’ is left to the guys, girls you can be a Mo Sista and encourage blokes around you to be a Mo Bro! There was hair everywhere by the end of Movember, with a great Mo Bro shave off on Sunday the 3rd December. It’s was a great cause, and about $350 was raised for the charity in question. Way to go Mo Bros!!!
