Wow, what can I say about this conference. It was a mind-blowing time that really instilled a sense of God’s purpose in me for our church, our awesome leaders, Carey and Janine, our church family and the people in our community. The conference was hosted by Pastors Paul and Maree De Jong of Christian Life Centre, Auckland along with their staff and hundreds of volunteers.
The facilities were great but what really spoke to me was the commitment that the church family have for seeing God’s house built and the practical outworking of this desire. Many people gave time to help in many different areas of the conference, and each person’s contribution was recognised as being equally important to ensure that the reason for the conference was outworked – to see God’s house built.The key note speakers at Pursuit were Pastors Danny Gugllielmuci, Brian Houston and Wayne Alcorn, all from Australia (but we won’t hold that against them!). What amazing speakers! I think I can say that we all were greatly impacted in our walks by their messages, their incredible humility, their practical advice, and their love for their church families and their communities. I can also say that our physical bodies were greatly impacted by their sometimes hilarious sharing of life’s little adventures and their own human foibles. I think that one of the things that I really loved about this conference was the practicality of the messages that were shared. The messages exhorted us to use the natural abilities God has given us to help build His church and reach our family, friends and community, to live and work in and by faith, believing the promises of the Bible and to be passionate for God. |
